Deploying a solution for automating service reports, and geopositioning its technicians for less than 150 euro spent per person. Challenge met!

The company La Chaleur et L’Eau is modernising for less by deploying the mobile token solution!

La Chaleur et L’eau is an SME of 8 people active in the heating and plumbing sector. The management wanted to maximise the field operations of the company to better monitor them and to provide better service to its customers, and did so by limiting its investment. Initially, the hope was to test our “traditional” global positioning solution based on a GPS beacon installed in the technician’s vehicle. mobile token offered to test the alternative offered by the smartphone-based GPS in parallel, offering the advantage of allowing the use of the tool integrated with service reporting, and taking photos.

After testing the two approaches, the choice went to the mobile application. “It really has so many more benefits and we couldn’t invest in a tracking box. On the other hand, there is the cost of the smartphone (150 euro). But with taking pictures, we have so many more options for reporting our operations. I can even help my own technicians out!”

With the GPS Tracking plugin, La Chaleur et L’Eau has access to trips taken (km, speed etc.) just as if they were equipped with a GPS beacon in the vehicle.

“And again, no discussion with the workers regarding their private lives. When the day is over, they are “off the radar”. Servie hours are recorded automatically and they tally the hours worked at the customer’s. Finally, the worker no longer has to waste time filling out work orders or delivery sheets! He can focus on his work and make the best use of his time”.

To sum up, the field staff uses a smartphone and the aidoo mobile application. In the morning, everyone starts his day by opening the application and starting his workday. The worker instantly receives his schedule. Once at the customer’s, the technician starts his work and takes several photos of his work. When he’s done, he closes the job with an appropriate status (finished, interrupted, to be reschedules etc.) and checks his smartphone to get the next job to go out on. At the end of the day, his workday is done.

The boss has a real-time view of the location of the technician and the progress of his work via his web browser.

When asked whether the staff would come to use the application, he replied: “It’s true that we had to follow his staff closely in the first few weeks of using the application. It is really simple to use, but people sometimes forget to start or complete their service. Being able to correct the data on the web interface helps me a lot in getting good service hours and in preparing my billing. What’s more, the client doesn’t argue any more when I show him the hours tally on the GPS.

Now they really get it and it’s became a great work tool for them.”

Eltherm automates the mobility incentives

The three basic modules of the Mobile Token solution have been deployed, phased manner.
